RICHMOND – The Richmond Chamber of Commerce is asking ‘have you ever been to China?’ The city’s largest business organization is putting together a tour of China for this October. Leaving October 12th and returning on the 22nd, the tour will allow travelers to experience the cities Beijing, Suzhou, Hangzhou, and Shanghai with an English-speaking tour guide.

“Richmond is proud to be most ethnically diverse municipality in Canada, with over half of residents reporting a Chinese origin. Chinese culture, food and customs have a profound effect on our city. But for a lot of Richmond residents, travel to China can be expensive and a somewhat daunting undertaking, especially when travelling with a family or small group,” said Rob Akimow, Chair of the Richmond Chamber of Commerce. “We’re excited to organize a comprehensive tour of China at an unbelievable price.”

For the business-focused traveler, optional business conferences and meetings will be arranged. And for the cultural explorer, visits to iconic locations like Tian An Men Square, the Forbidden City, the Great Wall and Yu Garden will be sure to satisfy wanderlust. 4 and 5 star hotel accommodations, 3 meals per day, attraction entrance fees, bus tours and air fare are all included in the package, which is being offered at $2,499 for members of the Chamber and $2,799 for non-members.

A free orientation meeting and info session is taking place Monday, May 2nd from 5:30 – 7:00pm at Trinity Western University. More details can be found online at richmondchamber.ca.
