This presentation will include a variety of timely topics including: important considerations when bringing staff back to the office, navigating vaccine mandates, and hiring and retaining employees in a tight labour market, among others.

Leanne Walsh, West Coast Workplace Law

Leanne Walsh founded West Coast Workplace Law in 2019 with the goal of creating an employment law firm that is approachable and accessible and remains true to its core value of building better workplaces.  She regularly provides advice and strategy on employee discipline and termination, human rights in the workplace and effectively managing organizational change.  Leanne also drafts tailored employment agreements, non-disclosure agreements and workplace policies. She has worked with clients in tech, health and nutrition, retail and goods manufacturing as well as professional services.

Leanne is a member of the Law Society of BC, has a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation and is a Mediator.

She is an active community volunteer and believes in the importance of mentorship. Leanne has been a mentor for the Melville School of Business Degree program, UBC Law, CPHR, among others.  She is the past Vice-Chair of the Advisory Committee for the Women’s Leadership Circle of the Richmond Chamber of Commerce and continues to support various organizations and charities with an interest in helping women and girls, both locally and abroad, including She Connects – a new non-profit mentorship startup for girls.
