Women represent approximately 60% of all university graduates in Canada – the highest number ever seen. Women in senior management roles are growing as well – now making up 31% of those positions (from 21% in 1987). Moreover, recent studies show that Fortune 500 companies with the highest representation of women board directors attained significantly higher financial performance than those with the lowest representation of women.
A trailblazer is the first the first person to do something or go somewhere, who shows that it is also possible for other people. Women in leadership roles are making big differences in their industries. At the Richmond Chamber of Commerce, we are excited to present to the opportunity to hear from three trailblazers, to learn from their struggles and triumphs and forge meaningful connections with other leaders. Senior Richmond School District students from all 10 high schools have been invited to attend as well, passing on the wisdom of these leaders to the next generation.
