March 13 Message from the Chair & CEO

Press Release

March 13, 2020

Distributed to members of the Richmond Chamber of Commerce March 13, 2020

As you know, the Richmond Chamber of Commerce is a community organizer. We are proud to present a number of events throughout the year that give you the opportunity to network and engage on critical issues.

Convening our community is important to us, but as public health warnings related to COVID-19 develop, we must put your safety first.

As such, the Richmond Chamber of Commerce is postponing events for March and April, including our March 31st Business After 5 Grand-Opening, and April 9th Annual General Meeting.

Tickets purchased for events taking place in March and April will be honoured on the rescheduled date. If any guests prefer, we are able to offer full refunds. Please email elizabethg@richmondchamber.ca if you require a refund.

The effects of COVID-19 have been felt in the global and local economies. As your Chamber of Commerce, we are your community and communities come together to help in times like these.

In partnership with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, we created a Pandemic Preparedness page earlier this week. There, you will find up-to-date resources for your own contingency planning, as well as key links for strategic tools and checklists.

We are working closely with all levels of government on their response in support of the business community. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and will continue to work on your behalf in this evolving situation.

We want to hear how this is impacting your business. Additionally, if you have resources or information that would be valuable to other members, please reach out to us at mpitcairn@richmondchamber.ca.

Sincerely,

Fan Chun, Chair and Matt Pitcairn, President & CEO
