Committees
The Richmond Chamber of Commerce is a Not-for-Profit organization which is why our Board of Directors and members are active on many different committees. Committees and task forces are a great opportunity to expand your ideas and become active within the Chamber of Commerce.
As a member, you can volunteer on any of the groups below and support your local community.
The role of the BEA Committee is to promote the engagement of Richmond businesses with the Richmond Chamber of Commerce. They manage the nomination and judging process for the Business Excellence Awards, clearly and transparently.
The Business Excellence Awards is our biggest and most important event. The BEA Committee helps make the event successful and exciting.

Roles/Objectives
- To review and finalize award categories, nomination packages, and judging criteria as deemed appropriate.
- To screen and judge Business Excellence Awards nominees and select winners.
The CANC provides an inclusive networking platform for business immigrants to connect with Chamber members.
The CANC is responsible for the success of the annual events like the Mid-Autumn Festival Dim Sum Luncheon, Lunar New Year Banquet Dinner, & Annual Sports Tournament.

Roles/Objectives:
The Mandate of the committee is:
- To provide an inclusive, multicultural networking platform for Richmond’s business community
- To grow new membership for the Richmond Chamber of Commerce in the Asian business communities through networking and ongoing events organized by the Committee.
- To promote cross-cultural understanding and diversity for our members in the Richmond marketplace.
RCC’s Annual Golf Tournament has been a community favourite for over 45 years. Each June, the business community meets on the course for fun, networking and 18 holes of golf. The Golf Tournament Committee works for 6 months to guarantee a successful event each year.

As a standing committee of the Board, the PAC’s role is to provide direct support to the Board in preparing and supporting policy positions.

Role/Objectives
The role of the Committee is to help the Board in addressing policy issues that are affecting businesses by giving information in the context of its mandate. The Committee will help the Board by:
- Advising the Board on matters of external public policy positions
- Writing and designing policy for the BC Chamber and Canadian Chamber AGMs
- Supporting the Board and Executive Director in their government relations functions
- Surveying membership to find out key priority policy areas
- Advising the Board about the values of the membership
- Performing other tasks as passed on to the Committee by the Board from time to time
- Putting together and hosting relevant policy presentations for PAC, the Board of Directors, and membership
The Women's Leadership Committee (WLC) works to establish a community for women in business in Richmond, empower women throughout their careers, and assist organizations in enhancing gender equity.
2024/2025 Chair: Cila Kwong, RBC Insurance
Roles/Objectives
The role of the WLC is to facilitate and encourage women within the Richmond Chamber of Commerce Membership to take on leadership roles. The WLC will:
- CONNECT
- Facilitate/ develop events centred around the WLC’s mandate
- Generate networking opportunities for women
- EDUCATE
- Generate events and thought leadership to members on key issues facing women in business.
- Reach out to women, including young women, to create opportunities to advance their careers.
- RECOGNIZE
- Use our platform to elevate the voices of women who are business leaders in Richmond.
- CHALLENGE
- Share resources and ground-level feedback to the Policy Advisory Committee, as it pertains to public policy development
